The Magasin du Nord Fashion Prize is Denmark’s biggest award for new fashion talents. Launched in 2012 by The Magasin du Nord Foundation, the grant of 500,000 DKK (approximately €67,500) is awarded annually to a fashion designer selected by a panel of Danish and international experts. Magasin du Nord Foundation established the prize as a new phase in its long heritage of nurturing fashion talent.

“Investing in the future of fashion is at the core of Magasin du Nord's Foundation’s values and vision. For many years the Foundation has supported upcoming fashion designers as they take their first steps in the business. We are passionate about innovation and creativity – and see it as our duty to bring freshness and energy into the industry.”

— Nina Wedell-Wedellsborg, Magasin du Nord Foundation board member

“We want to look outwards, to invite our friends from the international press and industry to see the next generation of Danish design super stars. The world has fallen for Scandinavian style and design, and we want to connect our phenomenally talented designers with the global fashion world.”

— Lise B. Thomsen, Magasin du Nord, Vice president, Marketing and e-commerce

“It is with great enthusiasm that I follow the world of Danish design. These days, Denmark has a range of strong talents. I hope the prize will help yet another new Danish brand to establish itself at home – and hopefully abroad, too. An endowment of this size can make a huge difference for an up-and-coming designer.”
